Eastern Community Legal Centre (ECLC) offers legal advice and assistance on a range of legal matters including:

  • Family law
  • Family Violence and Intervention Orders
  • Criminal law
  • Motor vehicle accidents
  • Debt and civil matters

These areas are subject to the Centre’s Legal Advice and Casework Guidelines.

ECLC’s legal services are mostly provided to residents in the local government areas of Boroondara, Knox, Manningham, Maroondah, Whitehorse and the Yarra Ranges.

ECLC provides free interpreter services for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) clients. The role of the interpreter is to objectively translate conversations between a lawyer and their client. The Centre prefers to use accredited interpreters to ensure confidentiality and accuracy of the information.
